Aergo is a dynamic postural support device for patients confined to wheelchairs.
We developed the product through our observations in hospital, nursing homes and special needs schools. The seating devices used in these setting were bulky, uncomfortable and unappealing. We wanted to build a device that focused on aesthetic and comfort.
The device is currently in development. We are working with academic partners LHP and NWC AHSN to conduct clinical trials and are working with Alder Hey to perfect the product development.
We are inspired by our patients!
We hope to create a device that saves cost for both the NHS and the individual patients. The device itself also has the potential to eliminate many of the destructive side effects of neuromuscular diseases (such as scoliosis and dystonia) that develop due to poor posture and spinal support.
